In honor of these brave men and our continued respect for all veterans, we are delighted to announce an extension of the Veteran Plaza Pavement Brick Promotion until Father’s Day.
The Mishawaka Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with Mishawaka Troop Town (MTT), has been overwhelmed by the heartwarming response to this unique initiative launched on Memorial Day. The community’s participation in creating a lasting tribute to our service members at Battell Park’s Veteran Plaza has been incredible, showing how deeply our veterans are revered.
Father’s Day is an occasion to honor and celebrate our fathers – the heroes in our lives. With this extension, we can recognize those fathers who have also been heroes in a broader sense, serving our country in the armed forces. What better way to honor these fathers than by dedicating a personalized brick in their name on the pathways of the Veteran Plaza?
As with the initial promotion, each brick can be customized with the veteran’s name, service dates, or a heartfelt message. By extending the campaign, we hope to fill the plaza with bricks representing a broader swathe of our community’s service members. It’s a beautiful way to connect generations and to show our fathers who have served just how much their sacrifices mean to us.
